Q: Help! Where do I start?
A: We have 4 options for those interested in booking an event with Sweet Impressions:
(1) Have a question, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
(2) To get more information about us, our event options, menus, and pricing; book a complimentary virtual Consultation.
(3) Book a virtual Consultation + Tasting Box if you would also like to sample our luxe menu. This option is $50 and includes delivery to your home the day of your appointment.
(4) If you know we are the bakery for you, then Save The Date. This $250 deposit confirms your booking with us, and also includes a virtual Consultation + Tasting Box at no cost.
Q: How far in advance should I book my date?
A: We recommend that you book your Save The Date with us approximately 12-18 months from your event. We can often accommodate bookings with less notice, however weekends May through October typically book up quickly so we recommend booking early. If your event is less than 3 months away, please contact our event coordinator directly at email@example.com to confirm availability and options.
Q: Does the Save The Date fee go towards my account?
A: Yes, the $250 Save the Date deposit will be put toward your order balance.
Q: Do you do in-person consultations?
A: No, we only offer virtual consultation appointments. This allows for more flexibility so our clients can find a date and time that works best with their schedule.
Q: Can a consultation be booked without a Save the Date deposit?
A: Yes, we encourage you to book a complimentary consultation appointment. Book your preferred date and time and then checkout online. Let’s get to know each other while asking questions and talking about design ideas.
Q: How far in advance should a final consultation be booked?
A: We suggest 3 months from your event. All details must be finalized, and balances paid in full a minimum of 2 months before your event. No menu changes can be made once the final balance is paid.
Q: What if I need to postpone or cancel my event?
A: Event bookings can be postponed with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice. Postponements are subject to Sweet Impressions’ availability, and a non-refundable fee of $150 will be applied to reschedule an event.
Event bookings can be canceled for a refund or store credit with a minimum of 2 months’ notice. With less than 2 months’ notice, no refund or credit will be given. Please note that Save the Date deposits ($250) are non-refundable.
PRICING & PAYMENTS
Q: What is the price range for cakes and dessert tables?
A: Our two-tier cakes start at $280. Dessert table packages start at $799 and include delivery, setup, and styling. If you have a budget in mind, our event coordinator will be happy to work with you to curate the best menu possible for you and your guests.
Q: What is the required deposit?
A: We require a $250 deposit to confirm all event bookings. You can Save The Date online regardless if your dessert budget is $500 or $5000.
Q: When is payment due?
A: An online invoice will be sent following your final consultation. Payment in full is due 2 months before your event.
Q: What is the difference between a luxe cake and a wedding cake?
A: Luxe cakes are finished with our delicate meringue buttercream with hand-painted metallic details and a personalized scalloped cookie topper. They are available in 4”, 6”, 8”, and petite 2 tier (4”/6”. All luxe cakes have 3 cake layers per tier.
Wedding cakes are finished with our delicate meringue buttercream with hand-painted metallic details and a personalized heart cookie topper. They are available in petite 2 tier (4”/6”), classic 2 tier (6”/8”), petite 3 tier (4”/6”/8”), classic 3 tier (6”/8”/10”), and petite 4 tier (4”/6”/8”/10”). All wedding cakes have 4 cake layers in the bottom tier with a cake board in the middle to allow for additional slices. Wedding cakes also include fresh flowers with greenery or a dried floral arrangement and a presentation box to elevate your cake.
Q: Do you make custom cake designs?
A: Yes, we do! Our artistic cake decorators can create designs with custom colours, metallic details, hand-painted accents or intricate hand-piping such as mehndi, filigree and silhouettes. All cakes are decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream and include a custom personalized cookie topper and fresh florals.
Q: Can colour be added to my cake?
A: Yes, colour can be added as an accent through your cake design, topper design, or flowers.
Q: Do you make cakes with fondant or gum paste?
A: No, we do not work with fondant or gum paste. All of our cakes are finished with our delicate Swiss meringue buttercream that is made from scratch.
Q: Do you make sugar flowers?
A: No, we do not make sugar flowers. We design our cakes with fresh or dried florals and greenery.
Q: How many dessert table servings should be ordered per guest?
A: We recommend 2-3 servings per guest.
Q: Can substitutions be made on dessert table packages?
A: No, our dessert table packages do not allow for menu substitutions. We offer 2 different menu and design options at each price point and all packages allow for flavour selections so each table is unique. We also offer an à la carte menu for those who prefer a fully custom dessert table.
Q: What flavours do you offer?
A: We offer a variety of flavour options for our cakes and cupcakes and even more for our doughnuts. We also offer a variety of vegan flavours as well. View our Flavour Menu.
Q: Do favours come individually packaged?
A: Yes, all of our favours include individually packaging. Choose from full-size cupcakes, meringues, caramel popcorn, homemade cookies, doughnuts, cake pops and decorated sugar cookies.
DOUGHNUT WALL RENTALS
Q: How do I rent your awesome doughnut wall?
A: Doughnut wall rentals are booked through our event coordinator and are subject to availability. A damage deposit of $200 per rental will be held until rentals are returned. Rentals that are returned late or damaged will be subject to fees.
Q; Can I rent a wall without ordering doughnuts?
A: No, our doughnut wall rentals are only available with a purchase of 36 doughnuts.
Q: Do we need to return the doughnut walls?
A: Yes, doughnut walls must be returned within 48 hours unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance through our event coordinator.
Q: How many doughnut flavours can I choose?
A: You can select up to 3 flavours / designs per doughnut wall.
PICKUP & DELIVERY
Q: How does the delivery & setup process work?
A: We take care of everything! We will contact your venue to determine a suitable delivery window, and our stylists will set up and style your desserts to make sure every detail is perfect. This service is included with all of our dessert table packages. Fees vary for à la carte menu deliveries.
Q: Do you deliver outside of Winnipeg?
A: Yes, we offer delivery up to 100 km outside of the perimeter for all event bookings. An additional charge of $1.25 per km will be added to our standard delivery & setup fees.
Q: Can my desserts be picked up / delivered the day before?
A: Most desserts can be picked up or delivered the day before your event. We will provide you with specific instructions to ensure your desserts stay as fresh as possible if they won’t be served until the following day.
Q: Do you offer nut-free options?
A: Yes, we are a 100% peanut and tree nut free facility. Our entire menu is safe for those with peanut and tree nut allergies. View our allergy information here.
Q: Do you offer vegan options?
A: Yes, we offer a variety of vegan desserts such as cupcakes, mini cupcakes, decorated sugar cookies, homemade cookies, and cutting cakes. Tiered cakes are not available. Q: Do you offer gluten-free options
A: The majority of our menu items contain wheat flour. We do offer a limited flourless menu, however, gluten is not an allergen that is controlled in our facility and cross-contamination is a possibility. These items are not guaranteed to be gluten-free and would not be suitable for someone with a gluten allergy or Celiac. View our allergy information here.
Q: Do you offer soy-free options?
A: Many of our menu ingredients contain soy and / or soy lecithin and there are no procedures in place to prevent cross-contamination. As a result, we are unable to guarantee that any of our menu items are free from soy. View our allergy information here.
Q: Do you accommodate other allergy requests?
A: We will always do our best to accommodate specific requests, however the only allergens we control for are peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and dairy. We are happy to provide allergen information for any of our menu items and work with you to design a menu suitable for your guests. View our allergy information here.
